Makeup evaluation with C-Cube

évaluation maquillage

In an increasingly demanding market, make-up is no longer content to simply beautify: it must now rigorously demonstrate its performance. Long-lasting wear, resistance to friction, blurring effect, uniformity of complexion… these are just some of the claims that brands now wish to objectify through precise, reproducible data.

To meet these challenges, instrumental tests are being developed alongside sensory assessments. The C-Cube Clinical Research has established itself as an essential tool for the scientific evaluation of make-up, thanks to its ability to provide fine 2D and 3D measurements, combined with usable visual renderings.

Measuring foundation resistance

évaluation tenue fond de teint

To assess a foundation’s staying power over time, the C-Cube analyzes the skin’s colorimetric variation before and after application, then several hours later.
Thanks to its precise, reproducible calibration, it can measure the delta E (ΔE) between the different times, objectively translating shade loss or stability.

Nail polish resistance via surface analysis

évaluation maquillage - vernis

The assessment of nail polish resistance is based on high-resolution 2D image analysis, carried out using the C-Cube sampling reader. This method makes it possible to standardize the position and conditions of the image, by inserting the finger into a suitable holder.

By comparing images before and after abrasion or mechanical stress, it is possible to measure :

  • areas of wear or flaking,

  • microcracks,

  • and loss of gloss or lacquer uniformity.

These analyses provide an objective basis for demonstrating the varnish’s resistance and durability under realistic conditions of use.

The C-Cube is an essential tool for make-up assessment. Versatile, precise and reliable, it will support you throughout your clinical studies.
